PICK A BOOK : BOOK SHARING APPLICATION BASED ON WECHAT MINI PROGRAM FOR FOREIGN STUDENT IN CHINA

Reading is important for everyone and it�s a need for human being. Nowadays, reading becomes a new lifestyle for people that must be fulfilled every day. If not, then it seems as if something is missing in our lives. Sometimes, the high enthusiasm of people is not comparable with their ability to buy books, especially for foreign students in China. Some of them can�t get the book easily, because the price of the book is quite expensive, hard to find in China, or the book stocks are limited. So, the other way to have this book is to borrow books from friends. But, we don�t have the information about friend�s book collection completely. Then, if everyone can share their books collection to others, it will help everyone who need the book. The software development method used in the development of this application is the RAD (Rapid Application Development) model. The RAD model was chosen because seeing from the application developed was a simple application and because of the limited time that the author has to endeavor this application. Pick a Book attempted to adopt some existing technologies to solve those problems by using the concept of social networking and utilizing internet technology by using WeChat Mini Program. The aim of the platform is to facilitate the people in sharing their own library with each other and to make it easier to search, borrow, and lend books to other people.
